Warwick Valley High School PTSA Welcome Letter 2016-17
The Warwick Valley High School PTSA would like to welcome back our extended body of students from Greenwood Lake, Chester, Sugar Loaf, Warwick and Pine Island.
A special welcome to our new incoming 9th graders and all new students whom are joining us for the first time. We challenge the entire student body to explore your new world, define yourselves as individuals, use the resources provided to you by the teachers, staff, parents, school leaders, PTSA, community and fellow students to strive to become the best that you can be and stand proud as WVHS Wildcats.
Greetings and a warm welcome to our new Associate Principal Mr. Sweeney. Welcome back to our teachers, support staff and administrators. We look forward to an exciting and successful year under the leadership of Dr. Washington, Associate Principal Fusco and Associate Principal Sweeney. Thank you for your continued support.
Welcome and thank you to all of our parents. It is your support throughout the elementary and middle school years that has kept our student body one of the best in Orange County. It is your support that will also keep the programs and activities that the WVHS-PTSA provides for our young adults active and plentiful.
In the past the PTSA has sponsored wellness programs, drug awareness education, informational forums, cultural arts programs, technology in-services, educational programs, community outreach, scholarships, positive self-esteem programs, staff appreciation events and underwrites various scholastic incentives and awards.
Parents, teachers and students – please consider becoming a member of the PTSA. Your membership goes a long way in providing us with the framework to continue successful programs. We also invite you to join us at our bi-monthly meetings. The dates will be posted on the school calendar and WVHS-PTSA webpage on the district website.
Please consider signing up for one of our committees or volunteer for an event. Our membership form describes our current programs and activities and is available on the website. Most committees only need a few hours of commitment. Please check our webpage often for news and events.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to our retiring board members Monika Schonhaut and Gina Ferreira. Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
We look forward to a fun and successful year.

Become a PTSA member
The Warwick Valley High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is grateful for past participation of parents, and hopes you will join or renew your membership for the 2015-16 school year. Your membership dollars are used for the following programs/events:
- To fund the High School Senior scholarship program, host the annual Staff Appreciation Day
- To bring educational programs to the students, teachers and parents
- To supplement other programs our school participates in
In order to raise funds for these programs and events, we rely on membership dollars and fund raising. For each individual member who joins for $10, we are able to retain $5.50 to fund the WVHS PTSA. Parent/faculty and staff membership is $10; student membership $8.
We’re looking for members who are interested in creating a vibrant PTSA that is reflective of our community. We welcome the ideas and suggestions of our members and are looking forward to working together to provide enrichment opportunities for students and their families, as well as the faculty and staff of Warwick Valley High School. It is not a requirement that members volunteer or participate in any other way than purchasing a membership, but we welcome your participation if you wish to do so. Download membership form.
